Renewable Energy Sources

Dear  6C,

Here is a good video that encourages all to turn to Renewable Energy Sources.

It is an american-made video which has relevance to all other countries who need to play a part in saving our Earth.

This is another video that explains the urgency of turning to alternative sources of energy based on Germany as an example.

Here is a video that explains briefly the different types of renewable energy sources we have developed to date.

Video to explain Crooke's Radiometer and Black Body Radiation.
Enjoy!

Dear 3D,

Today, I gave out the 'Journal to be Cool' book which encourages you to be more kind to our family, friends and neighbours.

Do take some time during this long weekend to look through the activities and maybe start on this journey of being more kind.

Remember that we have a holiday on Mon (Youth Day holiday). So I will see you next Tue.

Do take this weekend to revise what you have learnt this week, to do your homework properly, to rest, to read books and to spend time with your family.

Things to take note of:

  • English homework: LS 8.8 worksheet (by Tue)
  • Submit CCA option form, zoo consent form and Math supplementary form next Tue (for those who have not done so).
  • Practise for your Rainbow performance using the handout given on Wed.
I will see you next Tue.

3 July 2014

Dear 3D,

Today, we had our temperature-taking exercise in the first period.

Other than 3 pupils who had forgotten to bring their thermometer, and 1 pupil who had a faulty thermometer, I'm happy that the rest of the class took this exercise seriously and brought their thermometer to school.

I hope to see everyone bringing a working thermometer for the next exercise. This exercise is to prepare us to be ready for any emergency. It is important to work together during any emergency.

Today is also our first Maths Heuristics Supplementary class.

The school has assigned, Mrs Agnes Ang, who is also 3D's new music teacher, to take the class for the Maths supplementary class.

She will do her best to look after the class. I hope you will cooperate with her and learn from her.

Lastly, there are quite a number of pupils who are not feeling well.
Do take care of yourself by drinking lots of water and sleeping early.

Remember to take care of yourself, your things, your friends.

That's all for now. Take care...

2 July 2014

Dear 3D,

Today we revised subject-verb agreement:
Subject-Verb Agreement

  • A singular verb goes with a singular noun.
E.g. She (singular noun) is (singular verb) my teacher.
  • A plural verb goes with a plural noun.
E.g. They (plural noun) are (plural verb) having fun.

Singular noun
(he, she, it)
Plural noun
(we, they)
Present Tense
is, has, does
are, have, do
Past Tense
was, had, did
were, had, did

Subject-verb agreement is useful whenever you are writing or speaking in complete sentences.

Do remember to check that you have paired the correct verb with the correct noun using the correct tense.

You can remember this table through the song that I have taught you today.

Some points to note:

  • Today's Maths homework: WB 3B Prac 2 Pg 9-10
  • Maths Heuristics Supplementary class begins tomorrow at 2.15pm - 3.45pm. Please make sure that you bring enough pocket money for lunch.
  • Remember to bring a working thermometer for the temperature check tomorrow.
  • I have given out the recollections for our Rainbow Day performance. Do try to practise the clapping of the rap and the rap itself for those who are interested in rapping. We will practise again next Wed.
  • Lastly, you have been given your CCA choice form today. Choose a CCA that you will commit to and will not give up so easily. This is to ensure that you fully benefit from that CCA through the next few years in Endeavour.

1 July 2014

Dear 3D,

Today, I reminded all of you about the importance of taking care of yourself, your things, your classmates and your classroom.

Each and everyone of you should help to play a part in keeping our classroom clean, neat and conducive for learning.

Remember to arrange your tables and chairs neatly the moment you go into your classroom. You can also help to check the floor for litter and throw it away.

I was proud to see all of you cleaning your classroom excitedly and diligently just now.

I hope to see more of such enthusiasm in the future.

Maths Matters:

  • Some of you still have not handed-in your Maths WB 3A Part 2 (Pg97-104) holiday homework. Please remember to do all homework and hand-in on time.
  • Today's Homework: Maths WB 3B Part 1 Pg 7-8 (by tmr)
  • I've given out the Maths Heuristics Supplementary consent form today. Supplementary class is for all pupils to attend. It will start this Thursday, 3/7, (2.15pm-3.45pm) and will continue on 10/7 and 17/7.

That's all for now.
